Typhoon Melor Threatening Industrial Center

Typhoon Melor

Melor typhoon moved toward the main islands of Japan, and threatened industrial centers of the densely populated country with heavy rains and strong winds. According to Japan Meteorological Agency, Melor probably the most powerful typhoon that hit the main islands of the country in more than 10 years if the rain. Images on television showed waves hit the coast of a small island in southern Japan, while the storm was moving northeastward toward the northern main island of Honshu. At 07.00 am local time, the typhoon was located 250 kilometers south of Tanegashima, 1,000 kilometers southwest of Tokyo and the rocket launch site.

Typhoon Melor going to rain in central Japan to the west of Tokyo. Rainfall is 400 mm high is expected to happen within the next 24 hours in the Tokai region, which includes industrial center of Nagoya. Meteorology agency also warned of strong winds and flooding across southern Japan. Toyota Motor Corp. Company may not be open factories in the Nagoya area because of hurricane. An official at the oil refinery Nippon Oil's Oita on the island of Kyushu, southern Japan, said the storm did not affect refinery operations or the delivery of oil. Nansei Sekiyu refinery in Okinawa KK said, causing high waves put off delivery of oil. Melor, which previously was Berkategori 5 super typhoon, now category 1, which tracks network said Tropical Storm Risk. Category 1 typhoon with winds up to 153 km per hour.
